<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks for that Cameron, very helpful. You don't even have the courtesy to appologise and you don't see anything wrong with linking peoples ftp sites to any forum you like. There is a thing such as manners and 'netiquette' if you will.

I'm not being precious as I see nothing wrong with sharing, but I posted that clip for my friends here on HOD knowing that one can hide the url of the link. You took it upon yourself to copy/paste it on another site without any second thought, leaving my name and address up there. It's no big deal really, it just shows a distinct lack of thought and regard for someone who wanted to share something and maintain his privacy at the same time.

Also, the fact that you refuse to admit your wrong doings and appologise to me speaks volumes and perhaps other members of HOD will mark your card as someone who is rude, has no manners and is simply an opportunist.

Cameron, It's only in your best interest to give in. Everyone makes a small mistake occasionally - however if you remain so stubborn you're really ruining any chances of benefitting from the great atmosphere and most importantly great wealth of knowledge about drumming from other users around here. Not telling you what to do - just some advice.

Honestly I didn't realize what that meant when I did it. Still don't really. I wasn't trying to seem like a smartass either; just trying to make light of the situation. I didn't realize sharing the video with my friends on the other forum would have such negative results.

I still think you guys should relax a bit. Did anything bad even happen to your files or whatever? If something did happen, I take full responsibilty, and you have my apology. I didn't mean to sound non-apologetic, but I still don't think I did anything wrong, or if i did, it was through complete ignorance of how your website works. The biggest thing is that if it was linked to his webspace, you were sucking up HIS bandwidth without his permission. Some people have to pay for extra bandwidth usage, so it just goes back to being the polite thing to do -- asking for permission.

1] Never loan out anything w/out understanding this firsthandedly: expect that you may [& prob will-] never get it back.

2] Never loan out your orig [master]. Make a copy of the orig for yourself, & only loan out copies to others. THIS RULE IS MANDATORY.

3] [House rule to be understood by all ;c) ]: Make it clear that one doesn't loan anything out period. No off to anyone; everyone gets preferencial treatment here. ;c) Ignore the whining, guilt tactics, & poss. name-calling behind your back [AWA to your face] that may follow. ;c)

I loaned out my orig master of a now infamous 80s clinic to a trusted friend 3 days after the show. I hadn't even listened to it al the way through yet. I just wanted to be "that cool friend."
He had some very bad news that he didn't want to have to give me upon my return. Seriously, I would be dishonest if I said that I never have appropriated a tune or disc through a trade or via mp3 program [Napster, etc]. So, I am also guilty in this area if I am saying anything that applies to anyone else. It's just that I try now to stay within boot stuff that can't be obtained or isn't being marketed, so that it doesn't take $ out of the artist's pocket. & as a muso myself I try to put myself in their shoes, as I wouldn't appreciate it. [Except for guys like Lars ;cP J/K He's filthy, stinkin' R enough ;cD]. You never know how things come around, & word can also travel quietly & quickly in the music biz circles.

Anyhow, just a thought. I'm off the "soap-box" now. ;c)
